We can't have the forums looking un-broken in, so i had to post something here. hmm, don't want spam, so i'd better thing of something technical.
oh, i know. i had trouble today importing an Excel spreadsheet into Access. it went through the process, but at the end, it gave me a simple error message and wouldn't finish. very strange. any ideas?

Well before you import, does the file need to be saved in a specific format for Access when in Excel? I've never done this, but see if Excel allows you to save to a format for exporting to Access. I had a book in college that probably could answer this, but I sold it after that semester ended.

they're both from the same version, and i've never had problems importing spreadsheets into access before. i have no idea what the problem is this time.

I'm on the Computer Applications UIL team at school, I do this kind of thing daily...
Now, I'm not too sure how to do it on a huge spreedsheet, but if its a reallativly small one, copy the whole thing. Then go into new table, start entering data, and then click the box that selects the whole sheet. Then, simply press paste.

yeah, that just links to the excel sheet. at least, it did when i tried it. i don't want a link.

Then learn new skills fool! lol...yeah, it's possible to save an Excel sheet for import into Access

I was able to paste it fine into the worksheet, but when I tried opening an excel document in access...it linked it. Just copy the information, then paste it into a blank table in "enter data" mode.
