a brief history of Dervish:
1970: born 1975 - 1988: crap 1988: graduates high school 1991: foolishly gets married at the age of 21. do not get married until you are at least 35. I know you think you are mature, but you're still just children (looking right at you, Jaden) 1998ish: starts fostering children 2001: gets job at hospital Feb 2002: starts third shift March 2002: joins HS. can't play much because wife bitches about spending too much time on computer. Still happiest three months of life up to that point, which is pretty sad when you think about it... May/June 2002: leaves HS under duress Later in 2002: makes a pact with Ronin - they join SR together Feb 2003: Adopts first of five boys Feb 2004: Adopts other four boys Sometime in 2005: leaves SR under duress Jan 2006: Joins XA June 2006: leaves wife june 2006 - march 2007: becomes homeless and lives in jeep (you will find references to "connection problems" if you look through my old posts. this would be the source of those problems.), reconnects with an old girlfriend who turns out to be insane but thank god she lives 500 miles away, thus allowing an escape March 2007: receives promotion at work, granting enough money to get an apartment June 2007: meets perfect woman July 2007: starts dating perfect woman September 2008: after lengthy legal process, gets divorced (yay!) 2009 - present: best years of my life March 26 2015: get engaged to perfect woman Sometime in 2020: will get married for the second time

Also sprinkle in some deaths and weddings. And quite a few cats. And a couple dogs...

When I joined SR I was 11 years old. In May, I'll be graduating from ASU with my Bachelor's. Like, where did the time go?

Yeah, my bachelor's is secondary history education, so I'm gonna teach for a couple years, then get a master's and try to move up to teaching history at a junior college level. Probably get a doctorate at some point as well.

Awesome choice Jaden – my wife is in her 11th year as a teacher and she still loves it…minus all of the bullshit politics that are happening here in AZ with education.
I would encourage you to move forward in your education, but be sure to space it out…as we found out, the “increase” in pay for my wife obtaining 3 masters and a Doctorate came to equal about $750 a year…
We are currently shelling out ~$800 a month in student loans (normal would be about $1500) through a Federal Employee Loan Forgiveness program that is based on your yearly AGI.
Well…with that being said, if you don’t get married for a while, go for the further education now…if my income wasn’t a factor in the AGI, her monthly repayment would be $0 per month for 10 years.

Look, a little life! Some student loans don't start looking for repayment until you are out of school, so if you have those, it may be better to press for all your degrees at once.

Yeah I'm in Arizona still so I'm getting plenty of exposure to the circus that is our public education system. Fortunately student loans won't be an issue for me because of scholarships so I don't have to worry about all that hassle. Gonna be doing my student teaching for the upcoming semester, so that should be cool, I'm just happy to be done with actual classes for a bit lol.

Goodness. I was 14 when I joined SR. I'm paying for school via performing on cruise ships/scholarships. Don't even want to think about loans.

So... yeah. Graduated from ASU in May, got hired on at a high-ranked charter school in Mesa. Pretty cool. It also occurred to me that I'm almost 24 and was 11 when I joined SR. Crazy how much time has passed. I'm still Facebook friends with Lavitz and Incubus from back then, but other than that this is the only contact I have with y'all. Those old SR days were a big part of my life despite not being in the clan for a super long time. It's really odd to think about it all lol.

You'll be 40 before you know it. Congrats on graduating and on the job! XD

Hey thanks. It's crazy to think about how long ago all that was relatively. That clan was a big part of my younger life, lots of fond memories of staying up way too late BS'ing with everyone. I still don't know how any of you put up with my annoying young self, y'all must have had saintly patience.
